Music sets the soul aflight and can be used to evoke many an emotional response. We use music to rev ourselves up! We use music to calm ourselves down. We drown our sorrows in sad songs and dance to poppy beats when we're gleeful.
Music is both inspired AND inspiring. So when I hear a song that reminds me of ZADR, then I listen to it on repeat!!!! XD (thought I was going to be deep with this, eh?) But seriously (not that i wasn't being serious to begin with) here are some of the ZADR-ish songs that I listen to and what they make me feel:
"Always" by Saliva. Wow oh wow that song couldn't be more ZADR-y if they wrote it specifically for the fandom. I'm not lying! "I love you, I hate you..." and then in the middle (this is sung by a man, by the way) "...the blood all over your hands, does it make you feel more like a man?" Even if that line wasn't in the song it would still sound ZADR-y but that really clenches it. It's angsty and angry but loving and longing. Definately a favorite ZADR song of mine
"Here In My Room" by Incubus Disregard the very very end of the song where he sings "thank you for being that kind of girl." Throughout the whole song I can't help but see Zim and Dib. "This party is cold and uninviting. Participants all in black and white. You enter in full blown technicolor. Nothing is the same after tonight." And then later "You enter and close the door behind you. Now show me the world seen from the stars. If only the lights would dim a little. I'm weary of eyes upon my scars." and then the chorus "If the world should fall apart in a fiction-worthy wind, I wouldn't change a thing now that you're here." I see Zim coming in and livening up Dib's otherwise gray life. I see him accepting the destruction of the planet. I see his battered body after Zim's rough play. This one has such a sci-fi, ethereal quality to the music. It is really very haunting and beautiful to listen to. This is another favorite of mine.
What ZADR songs do ya'll listen to and what do they make you feel?
